Peperomia tristachya

Peperomia tristachya
Misidentified as Peperomia polybotrya. This species has leaves that can reach 4" accross and maybe more. Let dry between watering. Here is the info from Guido Matheiu on this species.
As you can see in the illustrations which came with the first descriptions in 1815 (http://www.peperomia.net/repertory.asp), shape and size of the leaf blades of P. tristachya and P. polybotrya are quite similar. P. polybotrya shows however much longer petioles. But both species differ markedly in the inflorescences. In P. tristachya the number of spadices in the compound inflorescence is limited. Usually there are (1-) 3 (-5) (hence the epithet 'tri'-stachya). The rachis is rather thick and bright white in P. tristachya. In P. polybotrya on the contrary there is a large number of spadices in the compound inflorescence. The individual rachis is thinner and lacks the bright white colour.
Many P. tristachya plants are wrongly labeled 'P. polybotrya', but I never saw the latter in the trade.
