I received cuttings of what appears to be a small species but I'm told that they are just neglected and the leaves are actually about 1" on a mature plant. We shall see what it turns out to be.

|
|
Aeschynanthus ellipticus 'Coral Flame'
I purchased this cultvar from Lyndon Lyon's Greenhouse. It was once an undescribed species but was later determined to be a different clone of ellipticus. This clone is supposedly much easier to grow and flowers more easily. I would like to also get the species to compare.

Aeschynanthus NOID
I don't remember where this came from or what it was tagged or even if it was tagged. But, it's most likely either A speciosus or A xSplendidus. I tend to think it's speciosus since the leaves do not look the same as the xSplendidus I received from another source.

Amalophyllon rupestre RM2006
I received small rhizomes of this plant in the spring of 2008 from a friend. I neglected it to the point where I thought I had lost it. Lucky for me, each small piece of rhizome produced plants once I started paying attention and watering it. The foliage is stunning on this plant. You can learn more Here
This has tentatively been designated as A rupestre

|
Codonanthe serrulata
The consensus seems to think that this is serrulata so I'm tagging it. It should develop really succulent leaves after it recovers from my neglect. Flowers are a good match for that species.

|
Codonanthe species
I think this is a Codonanthe but I really don't know yet. Could be venosa. Maybe it will flower this summer so I can tell what it is.

Columnea kewensis
I purchased this from Rob's Violets. This is apparently not a species and most likely a hybrid. According to H.E. Moore, African Violets, Gloxinias and Their Relatives (1956), "A further hybrid, the result of a cross between Columnea glabra and C. Schiedeana, was made in England at the Royal Botanic Garden at Kew. It is possible that plants of this parentage are those currently sold under the name Columnea kewensis, a name that has no standing."

Nematanthus species
I thought this was N Tropicana but since the flower emerged it is obviously not. I got it at Oakdale Greenhouse in Charlotte. The leaves lack the red patches on the underneath and the flowers lake the maroon stripes. This plant looks very much like Nematanthuis fornix to me so it could be that species or a hybrid between it and another species such as gregarius.
